EU4LEA project performed follow-up field visits to Shkodra and Kukes Local Border and Migration Directorates and the corresponding Border Crossing Points on November 22–24, 2023. The main purpose of the visit was to evaluate the situation in the above-mentioned directorates and Border Crossing Points, following the training activities on the identification of stolen vehicles and forged documents and the usage of relevant equipment donated by the EU4LEA project for this purpose. Improvements accomplished with regards to human resources and infrastructure in these BCPs, based on the recommendations of the project from previous visits, were also in focus. Meetings were held with the respective Local Border and Migration directors, chiefs of sectors, chiefs of stations and BCPs visited.
