The EU4LEA Project finely held its 2nd Stakeholders’ Committee Meeting (SCM) on Thursday, 22nd June 2023. The meeting garnered the presence of esteemed attendees, including the Delegation of the European Union as the contracted authority of the action, project key beneficiaries, secondary beneficiaries, EU Projects aiding in the rule of law area, and other influential international donors.
The event was co-chaired by Ms. Lenka Vitkova, the Head of Section of Good Governance and Rule of Law at EUD, Mr. Besfort Llamallari, Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Sokol Bizhga, Deputy General Director of Albanian State Police, Mrs. Pranvera Pustina, Head of Cabinet of the General Prosecution Office, and Mr. Klodjan Braho, the head of the Anti-Corruption Section at the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK).
Mr. Fabio Ottaviani, the Team Leader of the EU4LEA project, and Deputy Mr. Richard Dullnigg showcased the remarkable progress made by the project in collaboration with beneficiaries, emphasizing deliverables, recommendations, and a consulted work plan, while project MTEs guided specific areas of intervention.
The project’s key beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude for the unwavering support and technical assistance provided by the project team throughout the second six months of implementation. Both the project team and the stakeholders reiterated their unwavering commitment to future cooperation, with the shared goal of achieving the anticipated results.
In recognition of the excellent international cooperation with the Albanian counterparts, the Project Leader, Mr. Giorgio Butini, lavished high praise on the presented accomplishments. He emphasized the significance of the beneficiaries harnessing the relevant options made available through the technical assistance of the EU and providing valuable feedback to the project. This reaffirmed Italy’s leadership in the fight against organized crime, solidifying its position.
