EU4LEA 4th Steering Committee Meeting with key stakeholders of law enforcement in Albania.

The 4th Stakeholders’ Committee Meeting of the EU4LEA project, convened on October 24, 2024, showcased substantial advancements and garnered strong praise from Albania’s top law enforcement and judicial leaders. The event brought together all relevant key stakeholders, including representatives from the European Union Delegation as the contracting authority, primary and secondary project beneficiaries, EU projects in the rule of law sector, and key international donors. Remarks were delivered by Ms. Cinzia Tarletti, Head of Good Governance and Rule of Law at the EU Delegation; Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Besfort Llamallari; Albanian State Police General Director, Mr. Ilir Proda; Ms. Pranvera Pustina, Prosecutor and Director of Foreign Jurisdictional Relations; and SPAK Special Prosecutor, Mr. Ened Nakuçi, alongside EU4LEA Team Leader, Mr. Fabio Ottaviani.

Mr. Ottaviani highlighted the project’s significant achievements in partnership with beneficiaries, underscoring key deliverables, expert recommendations, and the progress report. The assembled stakeholders highly appreciated the project’s strategic support and technical assistance during the past six months of implementation, with beneficiaries expressing appreciation for the solid backing provided by the project team.

The project’s key beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the firm support and technical assistance provided by the project team throughout the fourth six months of implementation. Both the project team and the stakeholders reiterated their commitment to future cooperation.

Participants strongly endorsed EU4LEA’s efforts to align Albanian practices with EU standards, emphasizing the project’s role in addressing organized and serious crime, high-level corruption and environmental offenses. The meeting was concluded with a clear message that continued dedication to capacity building and the full support to the Albanian law enforcement and judicial authorities is crucial in order to have guarantee a successful path for Albania’s EU integration.
